The Boston Globe ran another article, riding on the coattails of Bay Windows.
This rubs me the wrong way. As if she's not sure. By parenthetically inserting her age, it lessens the power of her statement. It's an "oh these kids...they say the damnedest thing!". It takes away from the fact that she came out to her parents last year, marches in the Pride parade, interned at MassEquality and is so brave and proud that she is willing to put herself out there in the public sphere.
Or maybe it's just the Globe getting snarky that the original interview was given to a rogue Back Bay GLBT newspaper Bay Windows, and not the venerable (snort) Globe.
Hey Globe, there's a reason for that...Just check out the title difference... "With love and pride, Governor Deval Patrick’s daughter comes out publicly".

My favorite line is from Diane Patrick "When her daughter made the big reveal, Diane almost burst out laughing out of sheer relief. "
Funny how that part wasn't included in the Globe...
h/t to Miss Tea over at Spinsterr for sending this along to me!!!
